Our Story

It all began with two humble cave homes carved into the cliffs of Santorini, once the cherished residence of Charalampos and Georgia, until the great earthquake of 1956 changed everything. After relocating to the village domes, the couple left behind the yposkafa, which for decades served as stables for their animals in the quiet hillside area known as Vounara.

In 1992, their son Lukas, inspired by the heritage of his family and the striking beauty of the caldera, transformed the land into one of the first three accommodations in the area. With a deep-rooted love for Santorini and a natural gift for hospitality, he created a place where guests could feel truly welcomed, not as visitors but as part of something personal and real.

Today, the spirit of hospitality lives on through Lukas’ son Charalampos, who lovingly continues the family tradition. Lukas Aethereal Living suites remain proudly family-run, with a focus on heartfelt service, authenticity, and genuine guest connection. Charalampos is also the founder of IANUS Hospitality Management, a company that shares the same philosophy: that true hospitality is about meaningful experiences, not just stays.

Following two major renovations in 2014 and 2023, the property evolved into Lukas Aethereal Living suites, a sanctuary of Cycladic design, natural serenity, and warm, attentive care. Perched above all other buildings on the caldera cliffs, the suites offer uninterrupted sunset views, rare privacy, and the ease of direct street access without the need for stairs.

From its humble beginnings to its present-day charm, Lukas Aethereal Living suites remain a place where hospitality is not just offered. It is lived, shared, and remembered.
